It's worth noting that the pool is thinner (they're only admitting up to 12 into the next cohort, as they did this past year, whereas it was 18 before) and with funding issues as they are it's a little less posh than before (back to 2007-08 levels for salary, but it's still a really sweet gig).

Should be making moves soon, per an email sent to dual applicants - any word yet?

Well, I just go my rejection email. About 15 minutes ago. So...if you haven't gotten one yet, its likely you have an interview.
Best of luck to the interviewees.

Are these updates only about the health and society program or also the health policy program? if only about the first, does anyone have news about the health policy program?

To the best of my knowledge, both programs sent out rejections.

For family reasons, I can't take a postdoc outside of the area where I got my degree. I got my degree at Berkeley; anyone have information on whether they'll accept local applicants?

Homebound - the official policy is that they can't consider someone for appointment at an institution where they've previously been appointed/a student. That said, there have been a small few (I can think of 2, there may be more) who have done it. In both cases, the justification came largely from the degree of shift the person was making in what they study - which made it basically as though they were completely changing institutions (i.e., there was virtually no overlap in their PhD mentors and those they worked with during RWJ). Hope that helps.

Thanks for your advice!
How do you know which faculty are affiliated?

@ Homebound Are you thinking ahead or are you trying to plan for this current cycle because this year's cohort applications are at the interview phase? Anyways, here is a link with more information: rwj.berkeley.edu/about_us.php
