Yeah, what's the source on the cancellation? I just emailed HR and they said the search is still on, deadline was extended until 4/15 and interviews are expected to be scheduled in May.

I've applied to other CUNY jobs and when a search is canceled you get an official notice. Until I get that I'm going to assume the search is still on. CUNY hasn't announced any hiring freezes (yet).

Some parts of CUNY like Lehman are implementing hiring freezes including rescinding offers (it’s a clause in their contracts, a financial contingency clause) - they have formed a committee to review offers extended and are notifying folks of the process. Some offers but not all will go through. I am thinking the same will be true for other CUNY schools.
