The Sociology Department at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time, non-continuing faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences. Appointment to this position will be for a term of one year beginning Fall 2020 and will carry the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. The candidate will teach a total of five courses including Introductory Sociology and upper-level courses in the area of their specialization. The research area is open but specialization in Sociology of Education, Organizations, or Medical Sociology are areas of curricular interest.
Among the qualifications required for appointment is the Ph.D. degree (in hand or expected by the first semester of the academic year 2020). Candidates must demonstrate interest and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching. Successful teaching experience at the college level is desirable.
