Some weeks back I went there for a campus visit but have since accepted elsewhere, but since they said that they will make a decision before the New Year, it makes sense that an offer was made.

Offer went out and was accepted. But heard a second line opened and may not have been filled. Possible spring posting for second line?

A second line has opened up, but the University is requiring a re-posting of the position (they can't go back into the pool). Be on the lookout for another post "soon"

An offer was made and accepted, and this new listing is for a second opening? Does anyone know if the department lost two faculty in one year (bad sign) or if enrollment growth (good sign) is involved?

When I was there for my campus visit, I didn’t get a sense that folks were getting replaced, maybe one person replaced for line 1 and the other line is a sign of growth. I DID get a sign that faculty are overworked, often taking on adjunct hours outside their regular load, so there is probably a need. Not a good sign overall about how much they work them to death.

Both listings this year are replacement hires (One retirement, one medical leave) - It took a couple years for the University to agree to the medical replacement, which is why faculty were picking up additional courses (which is optional).

As of yesterday afternoon, reference requests had not been sent out to my recommenders. Anyone else see a change in their recommendation status?

Can anyone post the link to the second line of hire? I could only find the old ads on HighEd and WSU HR website.
