JOB OPPORTUNITY-- VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN SOCIOLOGY
Coe College seeks qualified applicants for a one year Visiting Assistant Professor in Sociology.
The successful candidate will be a sociologist with an interest in sociological theory and a commitment to undergraduate teaching. This is exclusively a teaching position, with the teaching load being 3/2; the position does include healthcare benefits.
The candidate must be prepared to teach the Sociological Theory course (junior level class dealing with classical and contemporary perspectives), several sections of Introductory Sociology, and at least one other mid-level course in the candidate’s area of specialization that will contribute to the Sociology major at Coe College. The College strongly values a commitment to a student-centered approach and a multicultural perspective in teaching. A Ph.D. is preferred, although we would consider hiring an ABD candidate at the Instructor level. Candidates who can provide evidence of successful teaching will be strongly preferred.
