Details are still being worked out but expect to see an announcement soon for a 2 year Visiting Assistant Professor position (3-3 teaching load) at the University of Kansas with an August 2018 start date. We are looking for someone to teach undergraduate methods each fall and spring semester, the other courses will likely be negotiable.

The Department of Sociology at the University of Kansas invites applications for a two-year position, with the possibility of extending it to a third year, at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology beginning August 18, 2018. This is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track position. Located 35 miles west of the Kansas City metropolitan area, Lawrence offers many cultural opportunities of a university town. Faculty responsibilities include teaching six undergraduate sociology courses per academic year (a 3-3 teaching obligation), advising students, conducting research, and providing service to the department. Candidates should have completed their Ph.D. no later than August 2018. The successful candidate for the position must be eligible to work in the U.S. prior to the start of the position Required qualifications include experience in teaching undergraduate Sociology courses in research methods; and statistics. Evaluation of the following requirements will be made through (1) descriptions of work experience and educational experiences in letter of application, (2) record of accomplishments and productivity addressed in resume, and (3) information provided from professional references.
