I am interested in seeing who ends up being hired for this position. If you follow recent faculty hires/newer APs, including this past fall, seems to be numerous SHSU and UNO grads, in line with prior UALR faculty. The Dept and students, especially having a younger PhD program, could benefit from a wider scope of faculty training (i.e. PhD programs). I am not saying the hires are not great, many have impressive CVs/pubs.

Some of what your saying doesn’t add up.

He/she is talking about the criminal justice department. Last two hires are from UNO. They have 3 UNO and 3 SHSU profs in the department but they do seem fairly spread out in terms of age. It is -slightly- troubling, but sometimes that just happens. My department is pretty diverse in where we all earned our PhDs, but that's not always the case. I guess if they hire a SHSU or UNO ABD then that's really shady.

It appears people are talking about two positions here in separate departments— Dept of soc & anth, and Dept of criminal justice. Let’s specify which we’re talking about and which we are asking about to avoid further confusion. I am interested in the soc position. I had a video interview but have not received a campus invite. Has anyone else heard anything?
