Hello! I am co-presenting a paper at the 2017 annual meeting of the ASA with an undergraduate student. We just received notification that our paper was accepted in a Regular Session. This is of course exciting news for both of us, and especially for the student who is planning on applying to graduate schools in a Soc. department. And yet - I work in an incredibly resource-poor institution that has limited funds (i.e. $0) to help cover the costs for this student, who is also working within fairly extreme financial constraints. Outside of ASA's Honors program and the Student Travel Award, does anyone know of other places, granting agencies, institutions, etc. that might be able to help defray the expenses? Or alternately, does ASA have a system where a student can volunteer in exchange for the registration costs to be covered? I looked all over the website but could not find anything like that for the annual meeting.
Thank you very much, in advance, for you collective brainstorming!!
