Job Description
POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW, Industrial Performance Center, to join a research team investigating the socio-economic impact of recently established research universities with a case study on the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The study will establish a framework to evaluate the dimensions, mechanisms, and metrics by which research universities exert influence on social and economic development. The team will conduct a rigorous case study based upon both qualitative and quantitative methods, including a comprehensive literature review, semistructured interviews, appropriate counter factual specification, definition of local area, inclusion of spillover benefits, and statistical analysis of university data (alums, theses, publications data, patent records, etc.).
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a Ph.D. in economics, political science, sociology, technology and policy, or related field; and experience conducting rigorous case study research, preferably studying higher education and/or industrial development. Preference will be given to those familiar with the Middle East region. Proficiency in Arabic is preferred. Job #14337
