Does anyone know how to get yourself removed from rate my professor? Reading the reviews on there is my guilty pleasure and a grad student in my department who taught a couple semesters and had a couple of reviews is now completely gone from the site. The person's reviews were all terrible and since they are on the market now it actually would have been really smart to get the reviews removed from the web just in case an SC googled their name. But, how? Can you just contact the site and ask to be deleted?

Just write them an email explaining why they should be removed and they are very good about taking them down.

It sounds like your grad student made the right decision. I'm not sure how they were able to do that though. It might be just as easy as contacting them, but I think it might be harder than you'd imagine to explain why they should be taken down. You can check out their rules and guidelines to see if any of the posts could be breaking the rules in one way or another. Otherwise, I've been reading elsewhere that it's actually pretty difficult to get them to take everything down. Maybe you should ask your grad student how they did it!

I had a friend who tried to get their comments removed on that site and they were unable to get them down because they weren't able to prove that there was anything untrue about the student's claims. To be fair, I don't think they were untrue. However, even if they were, it would be very difficult to prove, I would think.
