The University of Missouri-Kansas City seeks a tenure-track assistant professor of sociology to start Fall Semester 2017. The Sociology Department has recently approved a Sociology BA/MA dual degree program to complement its traditional undergraduate and master's programs in sociology. Area of research specialization is open but the successful candidate must be able teach core sociology courses including introduction to sociology, undergraduate research methods, the senior capstone course and undergraduate & graduate statistics. The successful candidate will be able to advise students at all levels including the university-wide Interdisciplinary PhD Program and serve the mission of the University.
Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. in sociology; demonstrated teaching excellence and enthusiasm and evidence of or potential for research productivity. All PhD requirements must be completed by July 1, 2017.
Preferred: Interest in implementing "high impact" student learning experiences such as undergraduate research opportunities, internships, and/or service learning; Demonstrated grant funding success
