Unfortunately I cannot name-names here, but there is a reason I did not take an offer here. The faculty are largely either research unproductive or rather unpleasant human beings. In fact, look at the quality of the students turned out by the department in recent years. Right now, no stand outs come to mind. This is suggestive of the quality of the program and the quality of the training. Just saying. See this new article on faculty productivity . . . . SHSU is number one for overall faculty productivity. www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/10511253.2016.1146008

They are only #1 for productivity when you don't take into account quality

Who's going to publish the article showing the productivity of the faculty that have left SHSU in the past few years? Not gonna be #1 for long.
