Does this position have any chance for turning into a TT position?

I said this on the other board, but you should never take a visiting/one year position, hoping that it will turn into a TT position. Sometimes they do - for instance at LACs, but with such a high teaching load (4-4) you won't be able to do much research and change your CV from your app from when you applied for the lecturer position to when you apply for a TT position

I completely agree. Not only is it hard to change your CV with a visiting teaching load (and "teaching more" does not help you as much as "publishing more"), but a visiting position itself will affect how you are seen in the market. Doing that in the hopes of "maybe they will open a TT in this same area, and maybe they will like me so much they will give me special consideration" is insanity.
