The Department of Sociology invites applications for a Post-doctoral Teaching Fellow position, beginning August 2015. •We seek a candidate with passion for teaching and a desire to ignite intellectual curiosity among undergraduates. The selected candidate will become a member of the collaborative team of faculty who are coordinating multiple sections of Introductory Sociology. A willingness to integrate technology in teaching is highly valued. •Candidates with scholarship that supports the program’s focus, “Diversity in global perspective” are encouraged to apply. •Candidates must be committed to working with a diverse metropolitan student body; building our new program; supporting student-initiated activities; and performing university service related to increasing student engagement on campus. •The new hire will enjoy a collegial environment that supports innovative teaching as well as a 3/3 teaching load, opportunities for scholarship, membership in the Washington Research Library Consortium, and close proximity to Washington, D.C. Postdoctoral teaching fellows teach three courses per semester and fulfill a department/school-level engagement component, which may include advising students, participating in department and school service, supervising student research projects, or other engagement as required.
