Both sites serve their purpose. I post on both. Different audiences and different tone.

Please, keep this thread dedicated to the employment service. There is an entire subforum for people to discuss this forum.

I also haven't heard anything from three of the schools that I contacted. Although after reading about Eckerd on the "Schools to Fear" page on the Academic Jobs Wiki, it might be a blessing in disguise.

How can I express my interest in schools in the employment service system?

You have to send them a message. When you click on the posting through the employment service interface, there should be a button to send a message.

A former search committee chair here. Unless they changed the system, the ASA ES system does not include a feature to respond to the requests for an interview when the school does not plan to schedule a time with you. This is one reason why we will not use it in the future.
It it could be that a non-response means lack of interest, possibly that times just do not match up, or all interview slots that you could make are full. When a school gets 150 requests for interviews, and has 25 time slots, there will be a lot of non-responses.

Not true...it's possible to send an email through the system. Received a very professional, kind email when all the slots were full from an institution last year.

Just had a colleague receive a declined request for an interview a couple of days ago via ES. It is possible and quite professional.
