Bryn Mawr also doesn't appear to have a listing on the job bank. Would anyone be willing to say anything about what area/s Bryn Mawr is hiring in?
thanks!

Bryn Mawr also doesn't appear to have a listing on the job bank. Would anyone be willing to say anything about what area/s Bryn Mawr is hiring in? thanks! The Department of Sociology at Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track beginning Assistant Professor position to begin August 1, 2016, with Gender as the primary research and teaching area of specialization. Secondary areas of specialization are open, but the following areas are especially attractive: medical/health; law; politics; public policy; comparative/historical; organizations; social psychology; sociological theory; and/or criminology. Applications from candidates with a global focus in their teaching and research areas would be very welcome. Candidates must have the Ph.D. in hand by the start date. Submit as pdf documents a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching philosophy and research statement by October 1, 2015 to Sociology Search Committee via Interfolio at: apply.interfolio.com/30358. In addition arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted via Interfolio to the Sociology Search Committee. Applications received by October 1, 2015 will receive full consideration.

Thanks for the clarification on the Job Bank vs Employment Services interface. This is my first time using both.

Hello, I am new to this employment service and am wondering about employer expectations. To express interest should one write an entire cover letter or just a couple lines to speak to your general interest in a position?

Still got plenty of interviews.

It's going to be hard to line up a lot of interviews when there is barely a dozen and half schools participating. Only one is in my area. Beginning to feel like I wasted 50 bucks

You kids are lucky these days. Back in my day (2009, height of recession) there were something like 20 places interviewing, total.

Keep in mind that the meeting this year is a week later. Also, my recommendation is to send notices that you are interested as soon as possible. Given the glut of candidates, any department that starts going through scheduling might simply run out of time slots later.

You do realize that employment service links are only available to those who have signed up for the employment service, right? And that the point of this thread is precisely to share the name of the institutions using the ES for those who did not sign up for it, right? As such, having "links to advertisements" in the employment service is useless. Not to mention that the only worthwhile post in the ES thread over there is a copy and paste from here.

You mad, bro?
I just found that board more useful because they have links to the adverts and it's very convenient to see the job description attached right to the table.
