Because I know that we'll want this eventually...
I've temporarily "stickied" this thread to keep it near the top of the front page, and I'll "unsticky" it once the Annual Meeting is done.

(09/11) Now I've "unstickied" it and it will settle into the pile.

When will jobs start being posted on the employment services website? And when do I need to have my CV posted? It varies dramatically. There will be positions that should be up in the coming weeks. And then there will be positions that will only show up a couple of days before the conference itself. As for when to have the CV posted, I would do it as soon as positions start showing up. The CV doesn't matter too much, but many places will screen for right area if they have too many candidates indicate interest (which they will). In other words, there is no reason to wait in the hopes of an R&R becoming an accept or anything like that.

Yes, get your materials ready and express interest in jobs as soon as they appear. In the summer, the candidates who express interest come in a trickle at first. We have time to linger over those and talk about them in casual conversation. As it gets close to ASAs, they come in a gush and we don't have as much time. Of course, none of this trumps actual qualifications, but I think there is a slight benefit to being first in line.
Our hire last year used the employment service, and it helped her/his cause.

Are there are listings popping up yet? I'm just wondering if I should sign up early or wait until it gets closer...

Anyone else finds it extremely ridiculous that you have to sign up for the employment service before you can even see who is interviewing?

Anyone else finds it extremely ridiculous that you have to sign up for the employment service before you can even see who is interviewing? Yes, and that's why so many people (who have signed up) have graciously posted those listings here for the past several years.

Why is it that I can't see the posting for the Baylor position listed above? Is that an error? I have access to employment services on the ASA website, but I haven't come across anything from Baylor.

Not sure why you can't see it. There's a search function under the "Jobs and Resumes" section. If you click on search and type in Baylor it should pop up. If it doesn't IDK.

@ask ASA:
Did you check the ASA Employment Service (for the annual meeting, which is linked at the top of this thread), or the ASA Job Bank?
The Baylor position, as far as I can see, is listed on the ASA Annual Meeting Employment Service site (at this point it is the newest position that was added). However, I do not see it on the ASA Job Bank, at least not yet. It will likely be added soon.
