Starting a thread for the 2 Yr VAP at Bard College. Deadline isn't until mid-February but the call said they would review applications as they came in.

had a skype interview today. it sounded like the long list was finalized. the committee said they are looking to move relatively quickly, and plan to make a decision about on campus visits within the next two weeks or so.

when i had my interview last week they told me they were on spring break this week and wouldn't be sending campus invites until the end of march/early april.

a friend was invited to a campus visit. email indicated that they were looking to make the final decision to submit to the administration by the end of the month.

Bard is hiring again on this line, for a VAP starting spring semester 2016, for a 3 semester position. We are looking for candidates that do not overlap with our current teaching areas. ---- Bard College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position in Sociology for the Spring semester 2016 and the 2016-2017 academic year to begin in January 2016. Substantive areas are open but preference will be given to candidates who can teach in one or more of the following areas: Sociological theory, health and medical sociology, education, media and technology, and historical sociology. Applicants are expected to teach courses in sociological theory. Other courses must meet our departmental needs but will be tailored to the candidate’s interests and strengths.
