Does anyone have recent experience with Journal of Family Issues? The last time I submitted to JFI, the submission process was done via mail, so the turn around time was about 6 months (for an R&R). I know that submissions are now done electronically, so I was wondering if that has created a shorter turn around time. Thank you in advance!

i don't know about JFI, but an electronic submission does not necessarily translate into a shorter (than 6 months) turnaround.

I think the turn around time has improved since they implemented the electronic submission, but there's still a chance that it will take 3+ months if the reviewers drag their feet. I received an R&R within the 3-4 months range and then had it accepted about 1-2 months after I submitted my revisions. I also reviewed a paper recently and the decision was made about a month after I turned in my reviews (and I had turned mine in early).
