... who the lucky person is.
As far as rejection letters go, I still haven't gotten one. To be clear, I'm not holding out any hope (was never invited for an interview). I just hope they're nice enough to send a rejection letter!

How did you get your rejection notice and...? Email or snail? Were you one of the ones asked for LOR or interviewed? Thanks!

I'm the guy who said he got his rejection email today. I was asked for LOR, but never an interview. Total long-shot and never seriously thought I had a chance, but I'm glad there's at least official closure now.
It reads:
"On behalf of the search committee for the Assistant Professor position, Search 2014472 in the Sociology Department at the University of Connecticut, we would like to thank you for your application. This search garnered a very competitive applicant pool. We regret to inform you that, although the committee was impressed with your record, we have decided not to further pursue your candidacy. The search committee greatly appreciates the time and effort that you put into the application process. We wish you the best of luck in your job search and thank you for your interest in the University of Connecticut."
Eager to see who the lucky hire is.

Yo, what's the deal? If the offer was accepted, why hasn't someone named a name already?
