The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at North Carolina State University would like to hire a Postdoctoral Teaching Scholar with a 2-2 teaching load who would add two SOC 202 sections per semester. In addition, we would like for the Postdoc to consider developing an internship course for all sociology majors; this would increase enrollment in sociology because internship courses are highly valued by undergraduates.
Other Work/Responsibilities
This candidate will also serve as an adviser to the Taylor Sociology Club, a club for undergraduate Sociology and Criminology majors.
Minimum Experience/Education:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., M.D., D.V.M., Sc.D.) in appropriate field awarded no more than five (5) years from initial date of postdoctoral appointment.
Departmental Required Skills:
Successful applicants must obtain a PhD in Sociology by time of employment, should demonstrate motivation to teach and mentor undergraduate students, and show evidence of an ability to publish research in their substantive specialty.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
Some experience teaching introductory courses in sociology is preferred.
Anticipated Hiring Range $42,000 - $45,000
