The Department of Sociology at the University of West Georgia solicits applications for one assistant professor position starting August 2014. A PhD in sociology or related discipline is required at the time of appointment. We are growing department with teaching opportunities in our BS and MA degree programs. We encourage applications from those who have teaching interests in research methodology (broadly construed), discipline specific writing, and one of the three following areas: health, education, and social services; diversity and social inequality; global and comparative studies. Successful candidates need a strong commitment to teaching, an active research agenda, and dedication to service to the university and community.
Applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and contact information of three individuals who can speak to their qualifications for this position.
