The Family Welfare Research and Training Group at the University of Maryland, School of Social Work is looking for talented, energetic, enthusiastic individuals to join their research staff. Our work primarily consists in conducting analyses of administrative data in response to relevant practice and policy-based research questions about the welfare and child support programs, and presenting the results of those analyses to program managers and policy makers. Qualified candidates should have skill in data analysis using statistical software such as SPSS or STATA, the ability to take lead roles in performing & directing various research studies, and strong writing and oral communication skills. The following position is currently available: Senior Research Analyst - Welfare Research The Senior Research Analyst is responsible for performing research tasks in the areas of public welfare, poverty, employment, and child support, and supporting research projects through data analysis, conducting literature reviews and preparing & writing research findings for publication of reports. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Public Policy or related field plus at least two years experience in research using administrative or survey data.
