Just received a polite rejection email from Portland State University for their position in Division of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Deadline was today (9/16/2015). Looks like their on top of their stuff and have started reviewing apps. Just FYI.

Is PSU expanding? Or are these hires (incl those in soc) to replace people? Curious what their financial footing is like.

Got the blanket rejection email last night too. At least they considered yours for more than a day. That's something.

The faculty in CCJ starting reviewing apps the week before and met the day after the posting closed to select their 9 candidates. Interviews for all three positions start next week. The faculty moved quick to get out in front of other schools in the hiring process. Two of the positions are replacements for faculty that retired and the third (open) was a new line rewarded from the Dean. The soc positions are replacements for people who left or retired, but I'm not sure where they are in the process.

So apparently, according to the chronicle job posting, PDX is hiring another vrime mapping / crime analysis position.
Is this the same one and they didnt offer or none of the candidates accepted from the first round?
Assuming this is real...should I reapply?
